the chromosomes dont replicate. the DNA does that and in prophase the dna condenses into chromosomes

It's not wrong to say that chromosomes replicate. Nonetheless b is false because this happens not during mitosis, but in a stage before. The stage is called interphase, or more specific s-phase.
