How do you divide
How do you divide? Division is a process of working out how many times one number can be found in another. For example, to calculate how many equal small parts can be produced from a certain length of material, you divide the length of the material by the size of the part that is required. There are several ways to write division problems. 10 divide by 2 2 goes into 10 10 over 2 10 รท 2 Division problems can be set out either:
depends on what you divide by what. 1. You can't divide by 0 2. If you are using whole numbers then you must divide with remainder: ex. 5/2=2 and remainder 1 3. in R and Q(real numbers and rational ones) division is the opposite of multiplication, that is diving is multiplication by the inverse element of something. ex. 5 divided by 2 is just 5 multiplied by the inverse element of 2 which you can write as 1/2. Learning how to perform division by hand writing is a different matter, and something learned in school at young age. Google it for more information and video tutorials.
