Suppose that y varies inversely with x, and y = 2 when x = 6. What is an equation for the inverse variation? x = y/4 y = 12/x y = 4x y = x/12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Only one equation has a y that varies inversely with x, and that equation is also the only one that gives y = 2 when x = 6, try calculating the y-values for all by filling in x = 6.

Or in case of the first equation: fill in y = 2 and see if x = 6 comes out :)

okay thank you!

So did you find answer b? :)
