need help. Can anyone help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ask away :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you know Euler's Formula?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not familiar with it, sorry.

OpenStudy (kirbykirby):

I do

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You do! E-F+V=2?

OpenStudy (kirbykirby):

Oh that one. Oh well this one too lol :)

OpenStudy (kirbykirby):

it's not F+V-E = 2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok here is my question. First, how do I thank you for your help? Second, what is the sum of the number of vertice, edges, ad faces of a dodecahedron?

OpenStudy (kirbykirby):

Ok well the prefix "dodeca" is telling 12, so it's a polyhedron with 12 faces (F)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Right. But what about the other 2 parts?

OpenStudy (kirbykirby):

Well you can try counting how many vertices there would be, in this case there are 20

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm sure there is a systematic way :( Thanks for your help though

OpenStudy (kirbykirby):

From there you can use the formula to find out how many edges you have F+V-E = 2 12+20-E=2 32-E=2 30 = E
