I need a little bit of help with this problem- which of the following, when placed in standard position, does not land in quadrant 3? (181°, –179°, 145°,–97°)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you know what the quadrant 3 is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do you solve for negative numbers too?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

instead of going right wards, you go lefts so quadrant 4 is negative quad 1. makes sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the only one not in quad 3 is -97?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No its in it, ill draw you another pic to help you understand real quick

So if you are going in the positive direction, quadrant 3 would contain just angles between 180 and 270, but if youre going negative it would contain angles between -90 and -180. Hope that helps

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh so 145 would not be in quadrant 3!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You are right!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you heres medal!!
