can anyone help with kinematic diagrams?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i'm not sure how to draw a belt pulley diagram and do you just consider the pulley's joint? for example, two pulleys and a belt. so number of links is 2 (or is it 3?) and number of joints is 2..???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and i mean how do you draw a kinematics diagram for belt and pulley..i'm thinking it should just look like the original diagram?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It depends whether the pulley is frictionless or not. If it's frictionless and rope massless, it is negligible

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thx i thought it would be negligible because it's not a rigid link but instructor went thru the problem today and he did count it as a link as well as the 2 pulleys. and each pulley consisted of 2 joints, one in the center to rotate about, and the other is where the belt comes in contact with the pulley. not what i found in the books or anywhere online but oh wells i can see his point too
