"In Drosophila, the allele for normal length wings is dominant over the allele for vestigial wings (cannot be used for flight). In a population of 1,000 individuals, 360 show the recessive phenotype. Use the Hardy-Weinberg equations to estimate the number of homozygous dominant and heterozygous individuals." Could anyone explain this and work it for me? Thanks so much!

Hi @Zea, The Hardy-Weinberg equations allow to recalculate the proportions of various genotypes from one generation to another ( http://users.rcn.com/jkimball.ma.ultranet/BiologyPages/H/Hardy_Weinberg.html). To play with it you need to clearly understand what are genotypes and phenotypes, is it clear for you?
