This statement comes at the end of Lincoln's Gettysburg Address. Re-read the speech and look carefully at the few lines immediately preceeding those you are interpreting. Consider that Lincoln's speech was made during the American Civil War. Reflect on the cause(s) of that war, and I think you'll have an idea of something to write. this nation under God shall have a new birth of freedom under the supervision of God, America's freedom will be reborn(greater emphasis on freedom, a new kind of freedom) that govt of the people, by the people, for the people govt. belongs to the people, is formed(elected through adult franchise) by the people and is meant to serve the people(for). shall not perish from the earth this people's govt. combined with freedom under God, shall exist forever on earth
