What is the graph of the rational function? y =-3x+5/-5x+2
\[\frac{ -3x+5 }{ -5x+2 }\]
thank you, how did you get that?
Geogebra is a graphing software that really helps! Definitely should think about using it:) Got told to download through FLVS so it's good! and if you want me to walk step by step on if I were to graph by hand?
what does that program do?
You can graph circles, functions, parabolas, ellipses, hyperbolas, etc. You type in the equation or function at the bottom, and it will display your graph. You can add points in if needed, etc. :)
is it like wolgramalpha?
*wolframalpha
I just looked at that and I think it's similar, yes, so I guess you could just use that:) not sure if that graphs more things like hyperbolas and things? And to graph a rational function (by hand): 1. y - intercept = f(0) 2. x - intercept/s are the zeros of the numerator (set = to zero) 3. vertical asymptotes are zeros of denominator (set = to zero) 4. horizontal asymptotes = value of f(x) approaches as x increases or decreases without bound.
ok, thanks...that software explains how to get the answer, step by step?
Not Geogebra, it just graphs a lot:) By the looks of it WolframAlpha does?
yeah, I was hoping for something that explains how to do it, but W.A. sometimes explains how to do it, but in the longest way possible =/
Ohh hahaha. Well I'm not sure of a software that does that, I'm so sorry!! Wish I did! Do you know how to graph on a graphing calculator?
no, I only have a normal calculator or maybe I'm not sure how to change the settings to graph lol
Lol ohh well If you have a TI-84 + and some other models you can!
I think that I have a DC4G
Ohhh then I don't think you can. Finding the domain and range also helps with graphing sometimes:) I have to go though, good luck!
thank you lg =)
