why is a 45 45 90 triangle important for the unit circle?

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

similar to what the prev post said... for a unit circle to determine what sin45 and cos45 you use the special 45-45-90 right triangle which says that the side ratios are 1:1:sqrt2 setting hypotenuse to 1 yields sides of sqrt2/2 thus sin45 = cos45 = sqrt2/2
