OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

That's Physics!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nope, it's an ungraded assignment for math

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

(a) The UV is 1000 times of X-ray. So λ ofUV*1000

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have no idea how to figure this out. What do I do after this?

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

What do I do after this? Stop chatting, start concentrating on the question.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So λ ofUV*1000 after this?

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

wavelength of UV * 1000

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright..I got that but what do I do? I never learned this actually so I have no clue.

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

See in the question, they have already given you the wavelength of UVs.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

10^-10m?

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Yes sir.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright, where do i plug that in?

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Nowhere. wavelength of UV * 1000

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so how do I figure out part b?

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

What was your answer for (a)? Use that to see if that answer is in the range of the range given.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1e-7?

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

1e^-7? o_O

OpenStudy (anonymous):

omg. I must be doing something wrong. I have no idea. -.-

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Take a nap?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's 11:15 pm.

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Eat something.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you show me how to do this? I never learned this. Seriously.

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

@hartnn . Please help here. I gtg.

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

@abb0t

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks. @jim_thompson5910

OpenStudy (anonymous):

noo not abb0t, he's a poop

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

lol.

OpenStudy (abb0t):

wat da hek? I don't even noe hoo u r. Lol

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

for part a) multiply 10^(-10) by 1000 to get your answer or you can multiply 10^(-10) by 10^3 to get the same answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I did that..but let me see again and shhh @abb0t

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-10000000000*1000?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

similar example: multiply 10^(-12) by 10^4 10^(-12)*10^4 = 10^(-12 + 4) 10^(-12)*10^4 = 10^(-8)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

so use that trick to multiply quickly

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

oh and 10^(-10) doesn't equal -10000000000
