I'll start the course in 5 February, but I don't know if this course is a continuation of the 3.091x Oct 9 course, or if it is a beggining... What material should I get? And how it works (is my first time in this world...). Thank you

OpenStudy (minahil):

Hey I will be starting this course too. Haven't signed up for it yet. My semester at school just started. So is it a good idea to join the course? I mean, can a person with a 21 credit hour course load survive this particular course?

OpenStudy (minahil):

Oh and in response to your question, they are starting from scratch.

I think it's always good. Of course it will demand a bit more effort of you, because you'll have less free time (or none), but you will have compensantions. It can be a way for you to get more information and help at your current course, if it's the same area. If it'a not, it is good at the same, because you'll get knowledge (and a certificate, if that's your goal and if you pass). I'll give you my exemple, I sign myself on this course and in the Electricity and Magnetism (unfortunally this one doesn't start from the beggining...), and have a job. I had to do a schedule (as in school, something that I hadn't done for years. I don't know if I will manage and pass... to say the truth I'm a bit scared, not only because of the choosen area (it wasn't my best, but I really liked so I refuse to go to something else), but because I only have hight school studies, I don't study for years and I'm going to do it in english (I'm portuguese, but I'm getting used at english, more and more), but I will try, and I think you shoud do the same. With effort you'll do it.. Don't worry, and even you can't, at least you have tried. So I'm waiting to have you as my "classemate". Thank you for your answer... at least I will not have to make a revision at this course.

I'll do it also but is the first time I'll do a course like this.... I still don't really know how this work... hope have some help from you... ;)

First you go to edX page and choose the course you want to do. There are several, and very interestings also. Then you sign up in the course you have chosen. They say in the page of every course when it starts. When it does, we go to the course and start the best part - the study. They explain in each page how they work, what material they need, etc.. And welcome, evertyhing we can help each other, we will. If you have any doubt you came here and put it online, that some of you collegues and/or teachers will answer. WELCOME.
