can anybody give me any information about radicial signs and how to simplify them? Please!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when you are working with radical signs - think of numbers multiplied by themselves you need the same number twice under a rad sign to cancel out the rad sign

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for instance rad 144 = rad (12*12) = 12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how would you do √147 @JuanitaM

OpenStudy (anonymous):

147 is not a perfect square like 144 so you must simplify. I like using the tree method IF the answer doesn't have to be in decimals. If you are working with decimals - just put this in your calculator
