What is the range when the outlier is excluded? Age Received Driver's License: 15 16 18 17 19 17 14 18 16 17 31

Okay, if I remember correctly, the range of a set of numbers is the largest number minus the smallest number. So, right now, your range is 31-14. The outlier should be the number that is "most unlike" the other numbers. I suppose you could say, it's the odd man out. It looks like 31 differs the most from all the other numbers. If that is the case, if you exclude the outlier, your greatest value would become 19. Therefore, your new range would be 19-14.
