I dont understand this question can someone help me? Graph the ordered pairs (4,-2) and (1, -1) and draw a line through the two points. Which quadrant is untouched by the line? Explain how you found your answer.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Do you know how to plot the point (4, -2) ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I put down for the answer as The quadrant that is untouched by the line would be (1,-1)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

you basically have four choices: quadrant 1, quadrant 2, quadrant 3, or quadrant 4 so to say "The quadrant that is untouched by the line would be (1,-1)" doesn't make any sense

As I said I just put something down because I didnt understand the question :/

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

here is a blank xy axis |dw:1359415698415:dw|

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

show me where the point (4, -2) is

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

click the little pencil over the drawing I did and use it to plot the point (4,-2) you dont have to be exact, just give me an idea where it is
