Angles R & S

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

R and S are complementary, so R+S = 90 (7+3x) + (2x+13) = 90 7+3x + 2x + 13 = 90 5x + 20 = 90 keep going to solve for x once you have x, you can use it to find angles R and S

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got x=14 but im unsure how to plug that in..

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

R = 7 + 3x R = 7+3*14 R = 7+42 R = 49 degrees

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

you can do the same for S = 2x+13 or you can subtract 49 from 90 (since the two angles add to 90)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh, okay i get it now (:

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

that's awesome, glad you do
