when t = -2, v is...

v = -4t - 2

v = -4(-2) - 2 ... plug in t = -2 (ie replace t with -2)

v = 8 - 2

v = 6

So when t = -2, v is v = 6

Notice the first row of the table has -2 and 6

So the first row checks out
