An investor invested a total of $1,800 in two mutual funds. One fund earned a 8% profit while the other earned a 2% profit. If the investor's total profit was $78, how much was invested in each mutual fund? the amount invested that earned 8% is? the amount invested that earned 2% is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x = invested @ 8% y = invested @ 2% x + y = 1800 .08x + .02y = 78 now using either substitution or elimination you need to solve for x and y. Do you understand either one of those methods?
