A library contains 2000 books. There are 3times as many nonfiction books as fiction books. Would it be 2000=3•n ?

if n = fiction books than 3n = nonfiction books so , 2000 = n + 3n

If F is the number of fiction books, there are 3*F non-fiction books. And together they add up to 2000.
