what type of triangle has side lengths of 5in,6in,7in

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, we know for a right triangle that\[a^{2}+b^{2}=c^{2}\]where c is the longest side and a and b are the other two sides. We also know for an obtuse triangle that\[a^{2}+b^{2}<c^{2}\]and for an acute triangle that\[a^{2}+b^{2}>c^{2}\]What is the case here?

Im askin is it a Acute, Equilateral, Obtuse, Or a Right. I know it cant be a right so do you know which one please.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Let a=5, b=6, and c=7 Which of the three cases that I mentioned does it fit? You know it can't be equilateral since all of the sides are not the same length.
