The instantaneous height and horizontal distance x traveled by projectile are x=5t and y=5t-2t2. what is the acceleration if distance is measured in meters and time in seconds? [a] 10m/s2 [b] 4m/s2 [c] 6m/s2 [d] 8m/s2

OpenStudy (jamesj):

Well first of all: in what direction is the projectile accelerating?

OpenStudy (jamesj):

...just by inspecting these equations of motion?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

James please check this link... http://iitphysics.org/mcq_kinematics.htm

OpenStudy (jamesj):

Why? I know the answer here, I'm trying to help you get to it. So I'll cut to the chase. You have the displacement of the projectile as a function of t. The acceleration is the second time derivative of the displacement. Find that second derivative and you will be able to answer the question.

i don't know about kinematics as well... but i want answers for that questions please help me...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Did u check that link?

OpenStudy (jamesj):

Yes. I can't answer all of those questions for you, I don't have the time.
