@allison Your answer of - 1 + sqr(2) is a positive number. ( 7* pi / 8) lies in the second quadrant where tangent is negative. Therefore, I think your answer is incorrect. I think you want the additive inverse of the answer you chose but I have to work that out. You do the same and we'll compare notes.
