I plugged 2 directly into this and got 12/7 but it is wrong. Can someone help me on this please?

Are you sure you wrote the problem correctly?

as the degree of numerator is greater than denominator u have to divide numerator by denominator....or take derivative of numerator or denominator separately till degree of numerator is less than denominator... but dividing is the best option...
