How would you alter a natural minor scale to make it a melodic minor scale?

Lower the sixth and seventh scales degree by one half step on the descending part of the scale.

Lower the sixth and seventh scales degree by one half step on the ascending part of the scale.

Raise the sixth and seventh scales degree by one half step on the descending part of the scale.

Raise the sixth and seventh scales degree by one half step on the ascending part of the scale
