what is the longest phase of the cell cycle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The longest phase of the cell cycle is the Interphase, which in turn is divided into the G1, G2 and S phases. The reason why this is the longest stage is because this is the stage that the cell does most of its growing, acquiring nutrients and metabolizing in order to be able to divide later on by meiosis
