lim x->2- means the limit as x approaches 2 from the left side. So what is the function doing (what is the behavior of the y coordinate) as you approach 2 from the left?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what behavior?

what is happening to y as x is approaching 2 from the left? Is it approaching a fixed value? Then the limit is the value it is approaching. If it is not, is it increasing without bound? Then we say the limit is infinity (because it's approaching infinity). Is it decreasing without bound? Then we say the limit is -infinity.
