4 3/12-r= 3 6/12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just solve to get r by itself, subtract 4 3/12 from both sides of the equal sign and then divide by -1 to get r positive: r= \[\frac{ 3 }{ 4 }\]

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

4 3/12 - r = 3 6/12 (I am going to turn the mixed numbers into improper fractions) 51/12 - r = 42/12 51/12 - 42/12 = r 9/12 = r (reduce) 3/4 = r
