3(x + 4) > thn or equal too x - 2

\[3x+12\geq x-2\] is a start

isolate the terms containing x on one side and take all constants to other side

Like satellite said, do your problem like he set it up. Start by subtracting the x intervals from both sides (meaning subtract 1x from the right and 1x from the left. That leaves you with 2x+12 greater than or equal to -2. Then, subtract 12 from both sides which leaves you with 2x is greater than or equal to -14. Now, divide 2 from both sides.. which leaves x=(-7). Now, plug x into both sides of the original problem and see if it is greater than or equal to. :)
