Do the opposites and Combine like terms: (N+1)-2N/(N+4)-----> (N+1)+(-2N)/(N+4) N+ -2N= -1N, which then get's turned into 0. The equation gets turned into 1=N+4 You aren't done yet. You have to subtract the 4 on the right from the left side of the equation. When you are done with this you get -3=N. Hope this helped!
