numerator: (t+ )(t- ) what numbers multiplied will equal 24 and when added together will equal +2 hint 1, 24, 2,12, 3,8 4,6 denominator factor the square (t+sqrtof ) (t- sqrt rt of ) the middle terms cancel and then cancel out like terms and it is simply simplified.

(t-4)(t+6) / (t-6) (t+6) ..numerator would be -6 and 6 then cross out the two t+6..is that right? this stuff confuses the crap out of me..lol
