SOMEONE PLEASE HELP?? MEDAL:D What is the range of the following relation? A. {-3,1,2} B. {-4,-3,-1,1,3} C. {-3,-1,1,2} D. {-4, 1,2}
The range is the collection of all the y's, or the second value in the ordered pair.
so would it be B than?
@jim_thompson5910 please help with this one?
Example: The points (1,2) and (4,7) have the y coordinates of 2 and 7 respectively. Therefore, the range of those set of points (think of them collectively as a function) is the set {2, 7}
basically, range is just the set of y values
so the answer would be B
ya so our answer would be b right?
is -4 a y coordinate of any of the points?
oh s that would make it D then huh?
is -4 a y coordinate of any of the points? yes? or no?
sorry i miss read the graph worry, my apologizes
no
so b can't possibly be the answer because of that -4
the range will be some set of numbers, but we know for sure that -4 won't be in that set
I think its A
the answer would be -3 ,-1,1,2
Nope C sorry
ok better, but not quite the answer the set in choice A has all the right numbers BUT it's missing one y value
good, it's C
the y coordinates of the points are -3,-1,1, and 2 so the range is {-3,-1,1,2}
