In an analogy between a factory and a cell: If DNA is the superintendent and mRNA is the order to the assembly line (ribosomes), what might be the role of tRNA?

alright...actually tRNA is used to carry a specific amino acid to the ribosome so it can be added to the growing polypeptide chain. The tRNA is able to do this because of its 3-base pair anti-codon which matches up with 3 corresponding bases on the mRNA (codon unit). for the most part each amino acid has its own corresponding tRNA molecule (and thus its own 3 base pair sequence).
