solving linear equation -7/8=-5/6z

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

multiply by the inverse, so timesit by -6/5

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

divide both sides by - 5/6

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

so z is 21/20 when simplified

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know how to do it, my problem is it dont match the answer

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

well what were you getting as an answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Cross multiply -7 with 6z then do the same thing with -5 x 8 You'll get -42z = -40 then you move -42 to the denominator Z= -40/-42 - /- becomes + Z=20/21
