Choose the scientific notation for 0.01. 1 x 10^-1 1 x 10^-2 1 x 10^-3 1 x 10^-4
macenzi did u know im bob
thats great
ignore him
i know it great
gonna help me? or just mess around?
okay so for using scientific notation if the exponent on x10 is positive you'll move to the right however units it wants you to. if the exponent were to be negative you'll move to the left. to get from 1 to .01 how many units will you need to move to get to that
mess around =D
what did you get for your answer?
bob
Similar Example: Start with 0.0001 Place the decimal point after the first nonzero digit to get this: 1.0 Now ask yourself these questions: how many spots must I move the decimal point to go from 1.0 to 0.0001? Which direction is the decimal point moving when it goes from 1.0 to 0.0001? The answer is that you must move the decimal point 4 places to the left. So the base is 1.0 and the exponent is -4 Which means... 0.0001 = 1.0 * 10^(-4) Note: this is NOT the answer as it's only the example
^^Good Example
