Hi i am doing question one this is not a test question it is my homework i dont know how they got f(x)=-0.5x-2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know how they got -2 but what i dont get how they got is -0.5

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

\[f(x)=mx+b\] where \(m\) is the gradient and \(b\) is the \(y\)-intercept

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Agrred but i know that b is -2 on the plot but how do they get -0.5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and why i keep saying -0.5 on my answer sheet it says thats the correct answer

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

you can find \(m\) the gradient, by comparing two points and dividing the \(rise\) by the \(run\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So how would i do that
