#1-5 (1 point each) 1. x – 3 > –9 2. –2x + 1 ≤ –11 3. 10 < –3x + 1 4. 2(x + 5) > 8x – 8 5. –2(x – 3) ≥ 5 – (x + 3) 6. Explain, in complete sentences, when you would use an open circle or a closed circle, and when you would shade to the right or left, to graph an inequality on the number line. (3 points) 7. Describe a real life scenario where inequalities are used and state the inequality. (2 points)

I already did #6 just need help with the rest.

\[1) x>-6\] \[2) x>6\] \[3) x<-3\] \[4) x<3\] \[5) x<-5\] You can use the driving age for a real life example i.e. you have to be older than 16 so x>16 to be of legal age. Or, maybe I have some amount of money y and so I cannot spend more money than I have so. So the cost of what I'm buying (x) must be smaller than what I have so: x<y

Thank you! I have already figured out #1 and most of #2..I need you to show your work though if you dont mind.

I will on one and let you follow my pattern on the others. \[4) 2(x + 5) > 8x – 8\] distribute \[ 2x+10 > 8x – 8\] subtract 2x to one side and add 8 to the other \[18 > 6x\] divide by 6 \[3 > x\]
