\[215 = 375 -tx\] where t is the amount of time it has been out of the oven and x is the rate of cooling. Since you were given the amount of time it has been out of the oven you know its temperature and from there should be able to solve for the rate of cooling and apply that to the second half of that problem.

what is the answer ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You should try and solve it yourself. If you post your answer I will happily help you check it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it 26.785 i did 375-215 and 215/4 = 14

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Why did you divide by four?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i mean 215/15= 14.3333 so it means every 1 mins 14 degree temp goes down right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, that should be correct. Now from there you can discover how long it took to cool to 75 degrees

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so is it 215-72 = 143 then 143/14 = 10.214 min
