Can somebody explain to me polymerisation and addtion polymerisation and condensation polymerisation?

OpenStudy (abb0t):

If I remember correctly, addition polymerization is just addition of monomer molecules to a chain. While condensation is losing monomers on a polymer chain. It is kind of like thinking of lipid biosynthesis. You are making huge chains of lipid polymers or decomposing them. I believe addition is unsaturated while condensation is saturated.

OpenStudy (aaronq):

condensation polymerization would still be adding monomers to a chain but you're producing water (not sure if it's only related to water) as your forming the bonds e.g. protein synthesis (translation)
