Part 1: Decide whether you would use the graphing, substitution, or elimination method to solve the following system of equations. Explain, in complete sentences, why you chose that method. Part 2: Solve the following system of equations and show all of your work. 2x + 5y = −3 −15x − 5y = −10

elimination method

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sum both side, what you get..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I agree. Use elimination. If you just add the two equation together, the -5y and +5y cancel out and leaves you with only xs.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So you'd have -13x = -13 so x = 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but why do u chose elimination

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Because it's quick and easy and gets rid of the ys straight away so you can quickly solve for x.

ok now can you help me go step by step with the rest?
