write this trinomial in factored form? 7s^2-2s-5

OpenStudy (zehanz):

Begin with (7s ....)(s ....), because if you FOIL again, only 7s*s=7s² (F) But... that means the (L) last two numbers multiplied should be -5. That doesn't leave much options...

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

in a quadratic \[ax^2 + bx + c\] multiply a and c so in your question 7 *(-5) = -35 find the factors of 35 that add to - 2 ....... -7, 5 so them write your binomials as |dw:1359919120501:dw| remove the common factor from the 1st binomial and you'll see it cancels with the denominator so whats left is the answer.
