I have a graph of a polynomial function, how do i figure out the degree?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

even looks different than odd degree. so you have the graph?

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

You can find the degree by the number of curves

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So, if you could tell the graph better, that'd have three right or just two? does this middle curve count, making it three?

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

yes, so it's usually the number of curves +1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why +1 so four then?

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

Yup, and it's like a parabola, it has one and if you add 1 it gives the degree of 2
