please help me somebody

OpenStudy (blurbendy):

x/2 - 1 = x /5 +2 x / 2 - x /5 = 3 Find the common denominator (it's 10) 5x / 10 -2x/10 = 3 3x / 10 =3 3x = 30 x = 10

what bout this problem :twice the difference of a number and 7 is equal to three times of the number 3. find the number

OpenStudy (blurbendy):

three times of the number 3? is that what it says

OpenStudy (blurbendy):

or does it say three times the number 3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

three times

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes what you said first time

OpenStudy (blurbendy):

2(x-7) = 3x 2x - 14 = 3x -x = 14 x = -14 sry it took so long

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its fine but i think it goes this way 2(x-7)=3(x+3) solve it

OpenStudy (blurbendy):

ok, i was confused about the last part then it should be 2(x -7) = 3(x+3) 2x - 14 = 3x +9 -x = 23 x = -23

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got that amswer too

OpenStudy (blurbendy):
