OCW Scholar - Introduction to Solid State Chemistry 8 Online

I'm starting class on the 5th of Feb 2013 and I'm trying to read the assigned reading from the textbook, yet the website it takes me to wants me to sign and pay for the book. I thought the required reading was at zero cost? How do I get to read the required reading without paying for the book?

There is a free book for reading but other you can buy from Amazon.

This is a link for free download, and you could download also the periodic table, physical constants. http://ocw.mit.edu/courses/materials-science-and-engineering/3-091sc-introduction-to-solid-state-chemistry-fall-2010/download-course-materials/ best wishes,

I could manage downloading the book from this address. Check it out and let me know if you're successful. http://www.saylor.org/site/textbooks/General%20Chemistry%20Principles,%20Patterns,%20and%20Applications%20-%20Attributed.pdf

As above, I managed to download with the link above, but since I tend to like having the book, I've downloaded it and bought a copy. Although, buying a copy is not an easy job. Eventually got a copy on Amazon for £40 (there are copies a lot dearer than that), but mine is a very good 2nd hand copy.
