how do u factor 2x^3+16

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

Do you know any common factors that they have?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

take 2 as a common factor so you have \[2(x^3 + 8) \] the brackets is the sum of 2 cubes... which can be factorised as \[(a^3 + b^3) = (a + b)(a^2 - ab + b^2)\]
