in terms of what?

Here's the whole problem: Prove that each equation is an identity. CSC^2x-COS^2x CSC^2X=1

You have the left hand side =CSC^2x-COS^2xCSC^2X =cosec^2(x)-cos^2(x)cosec^2(x) =cosec^2(x)[1-cos^2(x)] =cosec^2(x)sin^2(x) =cosec^2(x)[1/cosec^2(x)] =cosec^2(x)/cosec^2(x) =1 =right hand side hence proved the identity.
