If you buy a school raffle ticket for $1, your overall probability of winning at least one of the prizes is 0.04. You can improve your odds of winning something by buying two tickets. What is the probability that one or the other of your tickets will win something?

this is a binomial problem we are interested in the follow 3 cases ticket 1 = win ticket 2 = win ticket 1 = win ticket 2 = lose ticket 1 = lose ticket 2 = win

so its easier to ask, what is the probability of not winning at all, then subtract that from 1 . 1 - .96*96 = .0784
