can anybody say how to maintain the survival of methanogens in an anerobic condition and what are the ways to maintain anaerobic condition??
To maintain anaerobic contitions you just need to avoid oxygen so for exemple bringing Nitrogen to a culture. I am not an expert of methanogens but I suspect they would not have any particular dificulty in anaerobic conditions so I am not sure to get that part of the question.
if nitrogen pumping is helpful...what is the pressure at which it can be given...is it costlier...??am studying on methanogen action on carbon dioxide...i hoped that the carbondioxide supply is more than enough...but if the composition of the gas inlet is varying ....i wanted to have an alternative source.....that's y i asked.....is there any other possibilities?
anything but oxygen will make it. you just need enough pressure to chase oxygen out. you can also seal your system (and actually the methane produced by the bacteria would help you there).
