Simplify the following expression m^8 n^6/m^-5 n^9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

m^13/n^3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you show me how you did that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sure You start by having the m numbers 8 and -5 because for now you ignore the letter and cause they have the same letter add them the -5 becomes + when you bring it up

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and you take the smaller n number and when you move over the line it becomes a negative to become 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you subtract 6 from 9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Cool thank you!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

am i making any sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No Problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes that makes perfect sense!
