Need Homework Help! :) Use the Triangle Proportionality Theorem to solve for x.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Directrix (directrix):

Theorem: If a line is parallel to one side of a triangle and intersects the other two, it divides them proportionately. 4 is to 2 as 6 is to x. 4/2 = 6/x Cross Multiply (Means-Extremes Theorem) and solve for x.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got 3/x is this correct?

Directrix (directrix):

4/2 = 6/x means 4x = 2*6 4x = 12 So, x = ? --> 3/x is not correct You want a numerical answer.

Alright x=3?

Directrix (directrix):
