Express the complex number in trigonometric form. -3i

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@zepdrix Hey can you help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think the answer is 3(cos 90° + i sin 90°) but I just need confirmation from someone cause I'm not 100% sure. :)

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Hmm so we're moving along the Imaginary axis, in the negative direction, 3 units. So I think we're moving straight DOWN 3 units. So our angle would need to be \(-90^o\) or \(270^o\) :o

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3(cos 180° + i sin 180°) 3(cos 270° + i sin 270°) 3(cos 90° + i sin 90°) 3(cos 0° + i sin 0°)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Those are my answer choices

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Hmm, one of them has a 270 c; Hmmmmm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lol so it's that one? 3(cos 270 + i sin 270) ?

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Yah I think so c:
